Much of the focus on this site is on originality, which means determining
exactly how the 1981 Camaro (And other 2nd generation Camaros) appeared when they left the factory and appeared on showroom
floors. Although we appreciate creative modifications, the most challenging restoration involves returning a car to its original,
unmolested condition. We have seen thousands of Camaros reported as "Original", as this is one of the most over-used
expressions in all of the Camaro world. If a part, a color, or an assembly is not exactly as it would have appeared from the
factory, it is not original. "Originality" can be very confusing, as many people buy parts and accessories advertised
as NOS and in original boxes thinking they are "Original". GM produced many replacement parts subsequent to a Camaros
production that were DIFFERENT from the parts that would have been placed on the Camaro in the factory. These are
not "Original" parts... They are GM replacement parts.
